Interventional Radiology
Interventional Radiology refers to a range of techniques that rely on the use of radiological imaging guidance– x-rays, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, MRI and CT–to precisely target therapy in both vascular and non-vascular disease. The concept behind interventional radiology is to diagnose and treat patients using the least invasive techniques currently available in order to minimize risk to the patient and improve health outcomes. Interventional Radiology procedures typically offer patients reduced risk, pain, and recovery time in comparison to open surgery.
Some interventional radiology procedures may include:
Most interventional procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis or require only a short hospital stay. While general anesthesia isn’t usually required, you may be given a mild sedative prior to your procedure.
The Interventional Radiologists at Triad Radiology are specially trained and have extensive experience. Please notify the technician and the radiologist if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking an anticoagulant medicine (blood thinner).
